skin care store
With all the different skin care products out, how do you which is best for you?

I have to admit when I go down the skin care aisle at my store I do get a little overwhelmed.

There must be over a 100 different products for your skin. How do you know what to choose for your skin type and age?
I don’t have any problems I want to fix, it’s more for preventative measures.

I’m lucky enough to have pretty even skin and I’ve never had an acne problem.

So really I guess what I need is something to maintain my skin as it is now.

Figure out the exact problem you need to fix. Acne? Oily skin? Dry skin? Once you’ve got that figured out, you’re already half way there.

As for age, I don’t really think age matters. If you’re 50 but you have adult acne, you can use Clean and Clear, even if it does seem targeted towards teens. Or if you’re only 20 but you’ve got some premature skin aging going on, it’s fine to use an Olay anti-wrinkle treatment. Age doesn’t matter, if it solves your skin issues, it is good.

Once you know what you need to fix with your skin, move slowly through the aisles. Look on the labels to see what each product does. You’ll be able to find products that will work for your skin problems. Then, once you’ve gone down the whole aisle (devote some time towards this!) write down all of the products that seemed as though they fit your needs. Then once you get home, look up reviews for them on makeupalley.com. Then you’ll be able to figure out which work best, and you can go back to the store and buy them.

If your skin is nice already because of whatever you’re doing now, keep doing it. I know personally that taking good skin and using products that you’ve never needed before can really take a toll on your skin and make it bad.
